You are here for a reason. You know that you need to do something, and I hope you know that you deserve to feel your best. You've probably also heard that yoga is a great exercise and then wondered if it would be right for you. Knowing where and how to start is a daunting undertaking, and any time you start something new you want to do it safely. That's where this course comes in.
about starting/studying yoga
Step-by-step, learn the importance of breath and the poses common to a yoga practice. More than just the names of poses, this course breaks down alignment of the body in each pose as well as provides an understanding of how poses should feel, what parts of the body should be engaged. To continue building a practice, the course explains modifications, adjustments, and variations of poses to help your practice be safe and appropriately challenging.
As you build your understanding, knowledge, and familiarity on your own timetable, your confident and safe practice will provide a motivating experience, one you will want to continue. Whether at home, in the studio or a mixture of both, the benefits of your practice will continue to grow and your developing routine stronger and stronger alongside.
Instead of spinning your wheels another month or another year, this is your opportunity to not just try something new but to start safely and with the information to help you make this practice the most beneficial it can be. Practicing poses safely and correctly builds strength, and with each practice the rewards compound. With the right guidance as you begin your practice, the more quickly your yoga practice ("your workout") will become something you crave and look forward instead of something you feel you must force yourself to complete.
It's natural to be self-conscious before starting something new. It's natural to worry that "everyone else" will look a certain way or be judgmental. However, this practice is your practice and no one else's. You will move at your own pace and with no one else's eyes on your work. It's about how you feel. You are perfectly ready, today, to start. Start as you are, and feel your progress.
We all do it, so this is not in judgment, but the reality is that we make time for our priorities. Whatever they are; if it is important, we find he time. You deserve to be a priority in your own life. Self-care is not selfish. You will show up to the rest of your life as a better version of yourself if you make caring for yourself a priority. And what better example to set for your children.
You don't need to practice an hour every day. Start with dedicating and prioritizing an hour each week to your practice (whether one 60-minute practice or three 20-minute practices, etc). Build from there.
It is human nature to try and to have setbacks and even failures. Previous experiences are just that - previous experiences. Grant yourself forgiveness. It's ok to move forward and commit to something new, to give yourself a chance. This course builds piece by piece and allows you to grow into the practice.
This practice does not require perfection. This practice is more than just a physical one. This practice is not a practice of physical exhaustion and extremes. It is nourishing and something that accepts you as you are, each practice. It is a place to bring you back to center, bring you back to yourself. It is a practice that you deserve.
It is a common misconception that everyone who attends yoga is folding in half and putting their foot behind their head. This is not the case. We are all works in progress and building our flexibility and mobility. The goal, for most of us, is never to get our foot behind our head or pretzel ourselves but to gently improve our flexibility and maintain our ability to move in ways we want throughout our days.
Free comes with its own hidden costs. You may not know their training or what style of yoga they teach or if that video is safe for you and your practice. This course is a guilt-free investment that can provide you the foundations and alignment and variations, modifications. Yoga is a wonderful exercise, but I definitely want you to pursue it safely and give you what you need to go to the studio or to use online resources.
"I learned a lot of subtle things through your explanations, and better understood things I had been doing in my previous, limited experience."
"The small details were so valuable, and they have made a huge difference."
"I was a little worried at first with the level and if I could handle it, but she has the most wonderful way of making sure we are all completing the poses in the correct manner. "
"The flow of poses is the best I've ever experienced in a yoga class."

My name is Tarasa Gardner (TG), and I am a 500 E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) through Yoga Alliance, meaning I have taken over 500 accredited hours of teaching training, maintained continuing education, and taught over 2,500 hours of yoga. I offer diverse yoga and meditation classes and online membership for beginners and yogis of all levels.
I found yoga after a car accident in hopes of restoring some strength and flexibility in my dominant arm. When I started at home with YouTube videos, I couldn't hold tabletop position without my arm shaking uncontrollably. I realized that I needed to take my own Beginner's course so that I could understand how to yoga safely and use modifications to help me gain strength and flexibility how my body needed.
From there, I am now here. Not only is my arm strong, my mind is so much healthier and happier. I love helping others start and continue their own yoga journeys. It's a life-long, day-to-day practice.
Self-care is not selfish. It is necessary, and yoga helped me see that I could feel better and be more fit without punishing my body or viewing myself for my flaws.
Yoga is the long-term game. Years later, I am not only strong in tabletop pose but am stronger in all areas than I was prior to the accident. My arm isn't ever going to be straight, but it's strong, and I feel good. I would love to help you feel the same.
